However, if you’re already an avid follower of Sarah Andersen’s comics on her social platforms or website then you might want to skip this. You’d find it entertaining and relieving (like, thank God someone feels the same way I do, I’m not crazy!) and want to keep it forever –maybe. Nevertheless, if you’re not familiar with Andersen’s comics then you should totally read this. Because, this surely felt like a compilation of her preexisting comics, like a keepsake version of it Somehow, I wish Sarah Andersen gave us something new, different, fresh. I can’t exactly say Adulthood is a Myth is 100% hilarious, but it’s definitely relatable. Strips that I also enjoyed were the ones about internet comment threads, running into former highschool classmates, and how one never really feels grown up even at age 85 (adulthood is a myth indeed).

I particularly enjoyed the comic strip about social media: how it’s like someone shouting through a megaphone, talking unnecessarily about eating a burger just to get attention. I did chuckle when I got to some pages, some parts of the comic that didn’t make it to her IG page (or that I missed if they did), because it was sooo relatable. Reading this comic was exactly like rereading her posts on Instagram, it lost its magic touch because I’m already familiar with Andersen’s comics (especially the adulting ones). If I wasn’t already a follower of Sarah Andersen’s comics on Instagram I would have highly recommended this book. Genre: Nonfiction (Graphic Novel, Comics, Webcomics)
